Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 large hoagie rolls side-split and lightly toasted
  • 4-8 pieces chicken tenders deep-fried until craggy and golden
  • 1 cup (100g) sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 8 slices bacon cooked until crispy and crumbled
  • 12 slices dill pickles thin green rounds
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) honey mustard sauce opaque yellow
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) BBQ sauce glossy, dark reddish-brown

Equipment

  • 1 Deep Fryer or Heavy Pot For frying chicken
  • 2 Squeeze Bottles For the perfect sauce drizzle

Method

Preparation
  1. Deep fry chicken tenders in 350°F (175°C) oil until the exterior is a craggy, deep golden-brown and internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
  2. Lightly toast the split hoagie rolls until the interior is a pale gold.
  3. Place hot chicken tenders into the rolls. Top immediately with shredded sharp cheddar cheese, allowing it to blanket the chicken.
  4. Sprinkle dark red-brown bacon crumbles over the cheese and tuck dill pickle rounds into the side.
  5. Apply a heavy, overlapping drizzle of honey mustard and BBQ sauce over the top in a zig-zag pattern.

Notes

Use high-quality chicken tenders for the best 'craggy' texture.
Ensure the bacon is extra crispy to provide a salty contrast to the sweet sauces.
