Preparation
- Fry thick-cut bacon in a skillet until dark-browned and crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble into irregular bits.
- In the same skillet (wiped clean), toast sunflower seeds over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- In a bowl, whisk mayonnaise, sugar, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until the sugar is dissolved and the texture is glossy white.
- In a large white bowl, toss raw broccoli florets, diced red onion, shredded orange cheddar, and most of the bacon with the dressing.
- Top with remaining bacon and toasted sunflower seeds. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
