Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 lb (450g) Potato Gnocchi Shelf-stable or refrigerated
  • 2 tbsp (30g) Unsalted Butter Divided
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 cup (240ml) Heavy Cream Full fat for best results
  • 1/2 cup (50g) Parmesan Cheese Finely grated
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley Finely chopped

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet Non-stick or cast iron preferred for searing.
  • 1 Microplane For finely grating the parmesan.

Method

Prepare the Gnocchi
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with 1 tbsp butter. Add gnocchi in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes until golden-brown edges appear. Flip and sear the other side.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining butter and garlic; sauté for 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Whisk in parmesan cheese until a thick glossy sauce forms.
  3. Add gnocchi back to the pan and toss to coat. Garnish with parsley, extra parmesan, and red pepper flakes. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not boil the gnocchi beforehand; pan-searing gives the best texture.
Use a microplane for the parmesan to ensure it melts smoothly into the cream.
