Stovetop Method
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Stir in the dry orzo and cook for 2 minutes to lightly toast the grains.
- Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes until liquid is mostly absorbed and pasta is al dente.
- Stir in the heavy cream and simmer for 1-2 minutes until thick and glossy. Remove from heat and fold in the parmesan cheese.
- Serve in a shallow bowl topped with extra fluffy parmesan, fresh parsley, and cracked black pepper.
