Ingredients
  

Udon Components
  • 2 packs Udon Noodles Frozen or fresh preferred
  • 3 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce For deep color and umami
  • 1 tbsp Chili Oil Paste With visible chili specks
  • 1 tbsp Honey or Brown Sugar To balance the heat
  • 2 tsp Garlic Paste Freshly minced or paste
  • 1/4 cup Green Scallions Freshly chopped
  • 1 tsp Toasted White Sesame Seeds For crunch

Equipment

  • 1 Large pot For boiling noodles
  • 1 Wide Skillet or Wok For emulsifying the sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the thick chewy udon noodles in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and reserve 2 tbsp of water.
  2. In a small bowl, combine dark soy sauce, chili oil paste, and honey to create the Easy Udon Noodle Sauce base.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and sauté garlic paste for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour the sauce into the pan. Once bubbling, add noodles and reserved water. Toss until a glossy dark soy sauce glaze forms.
  5. Top with a generous mound of green scallions and toasted sesame seeds.

Notes

Use frozen udon for the best chewy texture.
Adjust chili oil paste to your preferred spice level.
