Ingredients

Seafood
  • 1.5 lbs (680g) Jumbo Shrimp Peeled and deveined, tail-on
  • 2 units Lemons Halved for grilling
Honey Glaze
  • 0.5 cup (120ml) Honey Clover or wildflower
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) Soy Sauce Low sodium preferred
  • 3 cloves Garlic Finely minced
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Apple Cider Vinegar To balance sweetness
Garnish
  • 0.25 cup (60ml) Scallions Finely chopped green parts
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Red Chili Flakes Adjust to heat preference

Equipment

  • 1 Grill Outdoor gas or charcoal grill
  • 8 Skewers Metal or soaked wooden skewers

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Thread 4-5 shrimp onto each skewer, piercing through the head and tail to secure.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, and vinegar. Simmer over low heat for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
Grilling
  1. Preheat grill to medium-high (400°F). Place skewers on oiled grates. Grill for 2-3 minutes until dark char marks appear.
  2. Flip the skewers and liberally brush the cooked side with the honey glaze. Grill for another 2 minutes. Place lemon halves cut-side down on the grill simultaneously.
  3. Remove shrimp and charred lemons from the grill. Arrange on a platter, sprinkle with scallions and chili flakes, and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure the grill is fully preheated to get those distinct char marks.
If using wooden skewers, soak them for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
