Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 lb 93% Lean Ground Turkey 450g
  • 4 cups Fresh Broccoli Florets 300g, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil 15ml, or other high-heat oil
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce 60ml
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger 15g, finely grated
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Honey 30ml, or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Oil 5ml
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch 5g
  • 1 tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds for garnish
  • 2 stalks Scallions thinly sliced

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet or Wok Cast iron preferred for better searing.
  • 1 Small mixing bowl For whisking the stir fry sauce.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, ginger, garlic, honey, toasted sesame oil, and cornstarch until smooth.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and press into a flat layer. Let sear undisturbed for 3-4 minutes until deeply browned and crispy on the bottom.
  3. Break the turkey into crumbles. Add broccoli florets to the pan. Add 2 tbsp of water and cover with a lid for 60 seconds to steam. Remove lid and sauté until broccoli is tender-crisp and tips are slightly charred.
  4. Pour the sauce over the turkey and broccoli. Toss constantly for 1-2 minutes until the sauce becomes a glossy, dark amber glaze that clings to the ingredients.
  5. Remove from heat. Top with a heavy sprinkling of sesame seeds and fresh scallions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra spice, add 1 tsp of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
Use a cast iron skillet to maximize the crispy edges on the turkey.
