Recipe Ingredients
  • 1 sheet (250g) Puff Pastry Thawed but cold
  • 6 oz (170g) Deli Ham Thinly sliced
  • 1 cup (115g) White Cheese Gruyère or Swiss, shredded
  • 1 Egg For egg wash
  • 1 tsp (1g) Dried Herb Flakes Parsley or Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp (1g) Cracked Black Pepper Freshly cracked

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet Large
  • 1 Parchment Paper
  • 1 Pastry Brush

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a sheet with parchment. Cut the cold puff pastry into 9 squares.
  2. Place a folded slice of ham on each square, top with shredded white cheese, and brush the edges with whisked egg wash.
  3. Sprinkle with dried herbs and black pepper. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the pastry is golden-brown and flaky and the cheese has toasted spots.

Notes

Ensure the pastry is cold when it enters the oven for maximum rise.
Use a sharp knife to prevent sealing the pastry edges.
