Ingredients

Main Recipe
  • 1 lb 93% Lean Ground Turkey 450g
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil 15ml, high smoke point
  • 1/3 cup Honey 80ml
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce 60ml
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Oil 5ml
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch 5g
  • 2 cups White Rice Steamed, for serving
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Sliced
  • 1 tbsp White Sesame Seeds Toasted
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Flakes 1g

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet Preferably cast iron or heavy-bottomed for better searing.
  • 1 Whisk To combine the sauce ingredients.

Method

Cook the Turkey
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and let sear undisturbed for 3-4 minutes until caramelized edges form. Break into large crumbles and finish cooking.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk honey, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Pour the sauce over the turkey. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the glaze is thick, glossy, and dark amber.
  4. Serve over white rice and top with sesame seeds, green onions, and chili flakes.

Notes

Tip 1. Use high heat to get the best sear on the turkey.
Tip 2. Don't skip the cornstarch; it's what makes the sauce glossy and thick.
