Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs Salmon Fillet 680g, skinless, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil 15ml, or other high-smoke point oil
  • 1/2 tsp Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup Honey 80ml
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce 30ml, low sodium
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice 15ml, fresh
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds white, for garnish
  • 2 stalks Green Onions finely sliced

Equipment

  • 1 Large Non-Stick Skillet Or Cast Iron
  • 1 Chef's Knife For uniform cubes

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels. Cut into uniform 1-inch cubes and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon cubes in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until a dark golden-brown crust forms. Flip and sear for 1 more minute.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add garlic for 30 seconds. Pour in honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Simmer for 2 minutes until the sauce is thick, glossy, and amber-colored.
  4. Toss salmon in the glaze to coat. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve over jasmine rice.

Notes

Use a high-heat oil like avocado oil to prevent smoking.
Ensure the pan is very hot before adding the salmon to get the best caramelization.
