Honey Garlic Shrimp with Blanched Broccoli

Ingredients
  

Main Components
  • 1 lb Jumbo Shrimp 450g, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cups Broccoli Florets 250g, fresh
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil 15ml
Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Honey 80ml
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce 60ml
  • 5 cloves Garlic finely minced
  • 1/2 tsp Cracked Black Pepper 1g
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch 3g

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet Heavy-bottomed preferred
  • 1 Steamer basket

Method
 

Prepare Vegetables
  1. Steam broccoli florets for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp and vibrant green. Drain and set aside.
Cook Protein
  1. Heat oil in a skillet. Pat shrimp dry and sear for 2 minutes per side until pink and orange and curled tight.
Assemble
  1. Whisk honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, pepper, and cornstarch. Pour into the skillet and simmer until a thick, dark amber glaze forms.
  2. Toss the shrimp and broccoli in the sauce until heavily smothered. Serve warm with rising steam.

Notes

Dry the shrimp thoroughly for a better sear.
Do not overcook the garlic or it will become bitter.
