  • 1 lb Large Shrimp 450g, peeled and deveined
  • 1/3 cup Honey 80ml, raw or clover
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce 60ml
  • 4 cloves Garlic 20g, minced
  • 1 tsp Fresh Ginger 5g, grated
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar 15ml
  • 1 cup Jasmine Rice 185g dry, for serving
  • 1 tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds 9g, for garnish
  • 2 tbsp Green Scallions 12g, thinly sliced

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet Non-stick or cast iron preferred for searing.
  • 1 Small Whisk For blending the sauce ingredients.

Method
 

Cooking Process
  1. Rinse the jasmine rice and cook according to package instructions until fluffy and steamed.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and vinegar until well combined.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Pat shrimp dry and sear for 2 minutes per side until charred edges appear.
  4. Pour in the sauce and toss for 1-2 minutes until thick, glossy, and dark amber in color.
  5. Serve over rice and top with sesame seeds and sliced green scallions.

Notes

Always pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear.
Use a high-smoke point oil like avocado or canola for the best results.
