- In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the surface, then top with a single layer of thinly sliced jalapenos.
- Fold the pastry in half and gently press to seal. Using a pizza cutter, slice the rectangle into 1-inch (2.5 cm) wide strips. Twist each strip several times and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and water together. Brush the egg wash over each twist. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until puffed and deep golden brown.
- Let the twists cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm.

Work with Cold Pastry: If your puff pastry becomes too warm, chill it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes before continuing.
