Ingredients

Recipe Ingredients
  • 12 large Jalapeno Peppers sliced lengthwise, seeds removed
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese 225g, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese 115g, freshly shredded
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder 2.5ml
  • 6 slices Bacon cooked and crumbled into reddish-brown bits
  • 2 stalks Green Onions thinly sliced scallions

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Parchment Paper
  • 1 Mixing Bowl

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice jalapenos in half and remove seeds. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  2. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, and garlic powder until a thick white and orange mixture forms.
  3. Fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture. Roast for 15-20 minutes until skins are blistered and cheese has toasted spots.
  4. Top immediately with crispy bacon crumbles and sliced green onions. Serve on a wooden board.

Notes

Always wear gloves when handling jalapenos to avoid skin irritation.
Use a broiler for 60 seconds at the end for extra golden-brown toasted spots.
