Peach Filling
  • 6 cups (1.2kg) Peaches Sliced, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup (100g) Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tbsp (16g) Cornstarch To thicken the syrup
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Vanilla Extract
Oatmeal Crumble
  • 1 cup (90g) Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1 cup (125g) All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup (100g) Brown Sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup (113g) Unsalted Butter Cold, cubed
  • 1 tsp (2g) Ground Cinnamon

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 White Ceramic Baking Dish A rectangular dish is preferred for even baking.
  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl

Method

Prepare the Peaches
  1. In a bowl, toss sliced peaches with white sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla until peaches are coated and juices begin to release.
  2. Transfer the peach mixture into a white ceramic baking dish, ensuring they are spread evenly to facilitate blistering.
Make the Crumble
  1. Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  2. Cut in the cold butter using your fingers or a pastry cutter until the mixture forms heavy clumps and visible peaks.
Bake
  1. Sprinkle the crumble over the peaches and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes until the juice is bubbling and the oats are golden-brown.

Notes

Use cold butter for the best crumble texture.
Let the dish rest for 15 minutes to allow the syrup to thicken.
