Prepare the Beef
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet. Add ground beef and cook until browned and slightly crumbled. Drain fat.
- Stir in salt, chili powder, and cumin until the beef is well-coated and fragrant.
Assemble and Bake
- Place half of the chips on a ceramic plate. Top with half the beef and half the cheddar cheese. Repeat with second layer.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted, glossy, and clinging to the chips.
Add Fresh Toppings
- Remove from oven. Scatter diced red tomatoes and green jalapeño slices over the top. Add a generous scoop of sour cream in the center.
Notes
Pat tomatoes dry to avoid soggy chips.
