Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 13 oz (368g) Corn Tortilla Chips Thick, restaurant-style
  • 1 lb (454g) Ground Beef 80/20 blend
  • 2 cups (225g) Sharp Cheddar Cheese Freshly shredded
  • 2 Red Tomatoes Finely diced raw
  • 2 Fresh Green Jalapeños Sliced into rounds
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) Sour Cream Generous scoop

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet For browning the beef
  • 1 White Ceramic Plate For serving

Method

Prepare the Beef
  1. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet. Add ground beef and cook until browned and slightly crumbled. Drain fat.
  2. Stir in salt, chili powder, and cumin until the beef is well-coated and fragrant.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Place half of the chips on a ceramic plate. Top with half the beef and half the cheddar cheese. Repeat with second layer.
  2. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted, glossy, and clinging to the chips.
Add Fresh Toppings
  1. Remove from oven. Scatter diced red tomatoes and green jalapeño slices over the top. Add a generous scoop of sour cream in the center.

Notes

Pat tomatoes dry to avoid soggy chips.
Use freshly grated cheese for a better melt.
