Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs Chicken Breast cut into 2-inch pieces (900g)
  • 1/3 cup Honey (80ml)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon Mustard (60ml)
  • 2 tbsp Whole Grain Mustard (30ml)
  • 1/2 cup Chicken Broth low sodium (120ml)
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream (120ml)
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Chives finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Cracked Black Pepper

Equipment

  • 1 Slow Cooker 6-quart or larger
  • 1 Whisk

Method

Preparation
  1. In the slow cooker, whisk together honey, Dijon, whole grain mustard, and chicken broth until smooth.
  2. Add the chicken breast pieces to the sauce, tossing to coat. Ensure chicken is partially submerged.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours until the chicken has a soft, slow-simmered texture.
  2. Stir in heavy cream and cornstarch slurry. Cook uncovered for 15-20 minutes until the sauce is a thick, glossy golden-yellow.
Serving
  1. Garnish generously with fresh green chives and a sprinkle of cracked black pepper before serving in shallow bowls.

Notes

Use room temperature cream to prevent curdling.
For an even deeper flavor, sear the chicken pieces in a skillet before adding to the slow cooker.
