Prepare the Filling
- Beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, strawberry preserves, vanilla, and salt until smooth and pale pink.
Assemble Wontons
- Place 1-2 tsp of filling in center of wonton wrapper. Brush edges with egg wash, fold into triangle, and seal tightly, removing air.
Frying & Sauce
- Simmer chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan for 8-10 minutes until glossy and vibrant red.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry wontons in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden-brown and bubbly. Drain on a wire rack.
Serve
- Dust heavily with powdered sugar. Serve with strawberry dipping sauce, fresh strawberry slices, and mint.
Notes
Use a wire rack for draining to keep the wontons from getting soggy.
