Ingredients
  

Creamy Filling
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened (225g)
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar 30g
  • 1/4 cup Strawberry Preserves 60g
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract 2.5ml
  • 1 pinch Salt
The Crunch
  • 24 count Wonton Wrappers Standard size
  • 1 count Egg Beaten for sealing
  • 2 cups Neutral Oil For frying
Toppings
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries Chopped (150g)
  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar 25g
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice 5ml
  • 1 tbsp Powdered Sugar For dusting
  • 4 leaves Fresh Mint Garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Heavy-Bottomed Pot or Dutch Oven For deep frying
  • 1 Candy Thermometer To monitor oil temperature
  • 1 Small saucepan For the strawberry glaze

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, strawberry preserves, vanilla, and salt until smooth and pale pink.
Assemble Wontons
  1. Place 1-2 tsp of filling in center of wonton wrapper. Brush edges with egg wash, fold into triangle, and seal tightly, removing air.
Frying & Sauce
  1. Simmer chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan for 8-10 minutes until glossy and vibrant red.
  2. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry wontons in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden-brown and bubbly. Drain on a wire rack.
Serve
  1. Dust heavily with powdered sugar. Serve with strawberry dipping sauce, fresh strawberry slices, and mint.

Notes

Use a wire rack for draining to keep the wontons from getting soggy.
Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for a lump-free filling.
